Derek Morkel

CEO

With more than 20 years experience in both the health care and technology industries, Derek is the CEO and leads the overall strategic direction of HealthTechS3 and GAFFEY Healthcare. In his capacity as CEO he oversees operations, growth strategy, and financial performance.

Derek has extensive experience in driving superior healthcare operating performance from Critical Access hospitals to multi-facility billion dollar organizations. Derek has served as a CEO, Division President, Company CFO, Chief Information Officer, Division CFO and other middle management positions. He brings a deep understanding of the healthcare industry and how to build high performance teams.

Previously, Derek served as Senior Vice President and Division President at MedCath Corporation based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Further, he also held the position as Chief Executive Officer of U.S. operations for Craneware, Inc., a leading revenue cycle software solutions company with North American headquarters in Orlando, Florida and served as Operations Chief Financial Officer at IASIS Healthcare located in Franklin, Tennessee.

Michael Lieb

Michael serves as a consultant to hospital and physician owned medical practices nationwide. He brings more than 25 years of healthcare experience to his role providing operational and organizational guidance to healthcare organizations.

He has served as CEO in health systems of all types; large community hospitals, public hospital districts, critical access hospitals, and has held senior leadership positions in large academic group practices. Lieb earned a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University in San Antionio, a Bachelor’s Degree in Marine from Trinity University in San Antionio as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Biology from Rice University in Houston. He is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executive, and is a member of the Medical Group Management Association.

Having personally worked as an Interim, he has gained extensive first-hand knowledge of what medical practices require of a professional, top notch C-Suite Interim.

Peter Goodspeed

Peter, with his BA Engineering Degree and Master’s Degree in Business Administration, heads up our Executive Placement Services Division.

With over 30 years of experience building high performance healthcare teams Peter is highly skilled and attuned to understanding the unique challenges of today’s hospitals and healthcare environment.
